Exact date of construction on this home is unknown. However, it does seem to be one of Watkinsville’s oldest homes. Many residents hav eresided here including several county judges. IN the 1930s R.E. Fain purchased the property and after his wife saw the new hit film “Gone with the Wind” he moved the house back from the street and did extensive remodeling to give his wife her own “Tara”.
