101 Maggie Califf St.
Gray, GA 31032
In 1952, the Jones County School Board acquired 23.5 acres of land, marking the inception of the Maggie Califf School. Under the authority of the Georgia State Board of Education, this educational institution was brought to life through the architectural expertise of Bernard A. Webb, Jr. and placed under the capable leadership of Principal B.F. Crawford. The school, paying tribute to the esteemed black educator Margaret Laney Califf, fondly known as Maggie, commemorates the significant contributions of Maggie Califf to education in Jones County.
