The facility is part of the Allied Arts Center, comprised of three historic buildings. Formerly recognized as “The Strip,” this location served as the focal point of the African-American district until the 1980s. Presently, it accommodates arts offices and the Marlor Art Gallery. Adjacent to the John Marlor Art Center is the Allen’s Market Building, constructed in 1911 and repurposed for theater, meetings, and studio usage. The Allied Arts Center provides diverse artistic opportunities, including camps and workshops for all age groups, along with a rotating bimonthly gallery showcasing the works of visiting artists.
