Comprising University Archives, Digital Collections, Public Services, Rare Books and Manuscripts, and the Special Collections Galleries located in Heritage Hall, this repository preserves an array of materials, including the Flannery O’Connor papers, Paul D. Coverdell Papers, Carl Vinson Papers, Floyd L. Griffin Papers, W.J. Usery papers, and Mamie Walker/Alice Walker papers. Noteworthy exhibits within the Special Collections Galleries encompass the Flannery O’Connor Gallery of Southern Literary Works, the Golden Slipper Award, and displays featuring prominent figures such as journalist Julia Flisch, Pulitzer Prize winner Alice Walker, and historical showcases of Milledgeville’s contributions to various music genres.
